Romford Now & Then Glimpses of the Past in the Present

St. Edward's church, viewed from Market Place, sometime around 1908.1,2

This view does not include the Wykeham Hall, built next to the church in 1908/9, so the picture must have been taken sometime before then.

The white building to the right of the church was, until 1908, the Cock & Bell Inn. In this picture the name is missing, suggesting that the photograph was taken after it had become Church House.

Taken together, these two observations date the photograph to around 1908.
