The shops and Rex cinema at the top of Collier Row Lane, viewed from Collier Row Road, sometime in the late 1950s.1

A sign above the cinema entrace states that, at the time of the photo, it was "closed for modification & redecoration".

The Rex closed in 1959, and is now a Tesco supermarket.²

Next to the cinema are (from right to left)  Martin's (newsagents), City & Suburban Estate Agents, and J. B. Motors (notice the cars inside the building).
