This photograph was kindly provided by David Head, the grand-nephew of Elizabeth Ann (she was his grandmother's sister).  He writes:

On the back of this postcard photo is written, "This is Mother sewing the enclosed dress.  Nellie took it in the back Garden, thought you might like to see what she looks like when she is sewing."  I believe that the enclosed dress was for Eva's new baby Frances, my cousin.   That would put the picture about 1932.

Beyond the fence is what appears to be a billboard, or perhaps even a scoreboard.

(270 London Road was one of the houses just beyond the Crown Hotel, visible in this photograph from 1920.)
