This photo was taken at Christmas 1945.  It was kindly provided by Marsha (Cowen) Garland, who writes:

"The party was given by the Romford police.  My uncle, (Constable) Edwin J. Woodards (known as Jack) is Father Christmas.  I am the little girl on the floor in front with the white frilly dress on.  My cousin Edwin Woodards is in the picture,¹ as is his mother, my aunt, Grace Wright Woodards.²  Her mother worked at the Romford Brewery.  Maybe other people in Romford can find themselves in this picture?"  (If so, please do get in touch.)
