My Father Clifford Thomas FREWIN was born at No. 1 Factory Road in Squirrels Heath on 25th January 1923. He was the son of Thomas Frewin who originally came from Ipsden in Oxfordshire and Sarah Ann BIRD. The Bird (and SAITCH) family came from the hamlet of Squirrels Heath. My Father had cousins called Les Bird and the CARTER boys. Dad played football for Hornchurch Athletic and received a medal for runner-up in the 1947/48 season. He was also actively involved in cricket. I myself was born at 9 Albert Road in 1949 before being sent to Coventry with my parents in 1950.
