I am trying to find out info on my great great grandfather, James SNELLING, and his family.
James was born in Upminster in 1864. His father Daniel was born in Dunton about 1825.
James was at least one of 8 children, but I cannot find any thing about the others.
In the 1881 census it say's that James (aged 17) was working as a labourer at Uphavering Farm, South End Road, Hornchurch. It was near to Abbs Cross Lane. I have seen the farm on an old map, but it is no longer there.
James married Emily DUNCOME in Romford in 1882; she was from Dagenham.
