Parks & Gardens | Raphael Park | Centenary Celebration, 6 June 2004
This event, organised by Havering Heritage and supported by the London Borough of Havering, celebrated the opening of Raphael Park on 2 June 1904.
The Essex Yeomanry Band led a procession - with some in period costume - from the Town Hall to the park. At the park gates the opening ceremony was re-enacted, and once inside an oak tree was planted to mark the centenary, followed by speeches and music from the bandstand.
