Romford Now & Then Glimpses of the Past in the Present

Note the corner of the roundabout - subsequently replaced by traffic lights.

The shops in the parade are (from left to right): J. H. Waller (greengrocer), Davis (Post Office), L. H. Orme (Chemist), Kingstons (butchers), J. H. Waller (Grocery, Provisions) and Pinnocks (fishmonger, Poultry & Game).

Apparently one of the shops in the parade was a temporary home for a fire engine during the war.

This picture was taken from the middle the Eastern Avenue.  This can be seen in a companion picture, taken from the Rise Park Parade shops.
