On the right is the Golden Lion Hotel, and next to it, the Corn Exchange.

On the opposite corner is Lasham's chemist's shop, advertising shaving at 1d. Next to this is the London, County and Westminster Bank, and then an ancient building housing Wilson and Whitworth's Steam Press, printers of the Romford Times.1
