Ludwigshafen Place, a pedestrian subway beneath the traffic roundabout at the junction of Main Road, Mercury Gardens, Market Place and St. Edwards Way (January 2000).

It was named by Dr Werner Ludwig, Oberburgermeister of Ludwigshafen (twin town of Havering), on 16th May 1973.

Ludwigshafen Place was built on the site of Laurie Square.  In the background you can just see the top of the Town Hall.
