The Axis is a major development of 229 1 & 2 bedroom apartments, including a 12 storey tower with an ASDA supermarket beneath. It is situated at the junction of Main Road with Mercury Gardens, on the site of the former Dolphin Centre (see maps).

The ASDA supermarket was opened on 3rd April 2006, when the Mayor of Havering Cllr John Mylod cut a giant till roll, helped by two-year-old Ellie May Challis. At 12,000m2 the shopping floor area is larger than a football pitch.

The development was designed by award-winning architects Goddard Manton.
