This plaque is on the Lloyds TSB bank on the corner of Main Road and Balgores Lane (March 2000).  It commemorates the landscape gardener Humphrey Repton, who lived in a cottage on this site from 1783 until his death in 1818.1

The plaque was unveiled on 19th April 1969 by Miss Dorothy Stroud, author of a biography on Repton.2
