This postcard shows Romford market in the late 1940s, looking west from the Laurie Hall.1

On the south (left hand) side, closest to the camera, you can see The Bull Inn.  Closest to the camera on the north side you can see another pub, the Pig in the Pound.  Further down is the Rumford Shopping Hall, and beyond that the spire of St. Edward's church.
