At the entrance to the market are two banks - Lloyds Bank to the left, and the Cooperative Bank to the right.  Beyond Lloyds Bank the spire of St. Edward's church rises above the the trees in the churchyard and the surrounding buildings.   Further up the market come C&A and the Rumford Shopping Hall.
