| A quiet Market Place, viewed from its western end in about 1905.1 |
On the left-hand (north) side, the first building is the Cock & Bell inn. Further up, the white building with the awning is The Globe Commercial Coffee & Dining Rooms.
At the far end of the market stands the Laurie Hall, which at this date was being used by the Romford Town Mission.2
On the other side of the market, the first building is 'new' King's Head (rebuilt in 1898). Further up is Stone's drapery stores, the name proudly displayed in large letters down the side of the building.
Sadly, of all the buildings in this view, only the Cock & Bell inn remains (as Church House).
