An artist's impression of how Market Place will appear following redevelopment of its north side and eastern end.1

The development will include retail and leisure space, 91 one and two-bedroom apartments, and a medical centre.

There will be brand new facility for the Rumford Shopping Hall and, at the eastern end of the market, a stand-alone "signature" building on the site of the old Laurie Hall.

There will also be a 60-bed hotel on Market Link, and a multi-storey car park adjacent to St. Edward's Way.²
