The photographer was standing opposite to what is now the exit to the garage. In the background can be seen a couple of G class (Guys) double-deckers on the stand in North Street. These buses, manufactured during WW11, were of a utility design and very basic in construction and finish. Mike Leahy, who kindly supplied this photograph, remembers some of them with wooden slatted seats and being painted a brown colour (as it was impossible to get hold of red paint).
