On the left hand corner is a branch of the National Westminster Bank.  Formerly the National Provincial Bank,2 it changed its name at the start of 1970, following a merger with the Westminster Bank.3  On the other side of the road, a large branch of the latter still retains its former signage.

In the middle distance, on the left hand side, is the Quadrant Arcade.  On its roof is a sign for the Dolcis shoe store, and on its farthest edge a sign for the LCS (London Cooperative Society).
