The teacher in the centre is Mr Brett, and the teacher to his right is Mr Reece.  (Mr Brett flew as bomber aircrew during WW2, before being shot down and taken prisoner.) The pupil seated in the centre is Ronald Thorne, and at his right shoulder is Eric Tetchner.²
