Havering Court was situated on the right-hand side of Havering Road on the way up to Havering-atte-Bower (see maps).

Built about 1858 by Mr. J. Galdding, and originally called Cromwell House, it was enlarged and renamed Rose Court, before having its name changed again.

In the late 1930s it was transformed into a modern 'road house' with a gigantic swimming pool, as well as golf, tennis and dancing. It closed down at the outbreak of war, and the mansion was used as an emergency food store.

The site is now occupied by a BUPA nursing home.
