The flight took place on 1st April 1933 from Maylands Aerodrome (now a golf club). A twice-daily service was to be run in both directions.1

The Maylands site was not really suitable for such flights, however, and in mid-1934 a move was made to Abridge, north of Romford, where there were better facilities.2
